History

Dave Giesbrecht got his start in the print industry back in 1958, while doing deliveries for a local print shop in Saskatoon. When the company had an opening for an apprentice position, recognizing that this would be a good opportunity to learn a trade, he applied and was hired and he spent the next 15 years learning the industry from the ground up. In 1973, an opportunity arose to purchase a local print shop that had been idle for some time, and Dave became the owner of Globe Printers. His brother Don joined the business 5 years later in 1978.

The early days were full of big dreams and brought with them a fair number of challenges, but with the help of God and his family, their new business thrived. And that is how his son, Ken Giesbrecht, quite literally grew up in the printing industry. When Ken was 10 years old, he used to collate pages of print jobs for his Dad in Saskatoon. Ken was fascinated with the printing and graphic elements that they worked with, and he was inspired by the limitless possibilities of what they could create for their customers. It was with a great deal of enthusiasm that they expanded their family business out west in 1994, where Ken opened Globe West Printers in Abbotsford, BC.

We are genuinely excited by the quality and creativity of the work that we do for people. Our goal in this website was to create a transparent view of Globe, showing off the skill and expertise of our staff as well as our specialty printing capabilities, while also engaging our customers to be inspired by the possibilities.

We understand it’s about more than creating high-quality, beautifully done print pieces – although extremely important – it’s really about setting our customers up for success, making it easier to achieve significant business results with the help of our printing solutions.
