On Sunday, May 27th, Globe employees joined over 4,500 participants and volunteers in Abbotsford’s fifth annual Run For Water. The event was a huge success raising over $260,000 – enough to provide 7,428 people in Ethiopia with clean water for the rest of their lives. We had a blast at our water station where we cheered on runners and handed out water and energy drinks. Globe President, Ken Giesbrecht, also had a great day completing the 5K-race alongside his eldest son while his wife one-upped him (and then some) by running in the half marathon.

Improving Environmental Sustainability With “Green” Paper!
Maybe you’ve noticed the FSC tree logo on print material and wondered what it means, or perhaps you’ve used it yourself but never fully understood its implications.
So What Does It Mean?
Established in 1993, FSC (Forestry Stewardship Council) is an international non-profit organization that promotes responsible management of the world’s forests, offering customers around the world the ability to choose products from socially and environmentally responsible forestry.
When it comes to paper, FSC guarantees that all the fibre used – new, recycled or controlled source – comes from forest-friendly sources that meet the highest international standards for forest care and management.
Putting the FSC logo on a print project signifies that that paper comes from well-managed forests and known sources, ensuring local communities benefit and sensitive areas are protected. Plus, it’s easy to do too…all you have to do is ask!
How Does This Benefit YOU?
As the concern for environmental sustainability continues to grow amongst the general public, choosing FSC certified paper for your print material offers the following benefits:
- Demonstrates to customers your commitment to social and environmental responsibility
- No difference in cost or quality compared to non-certified papers
- The satisfaction in knowing that you’re doing your part to improve environmental sustainability
- Gain a competitive advantage over other companies
- Shows your target audience that you stay relevant concerning social issues and understand their needs
